How Do You Replace An Integrated Graphics Card (laptop)?

By admin Posted in: mobile games

I have a 1.5 GB Integrated Graphics Card (Chip Type: Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family), but I would like a better one to play PC games that require it. Is it possible to upgrade or replace it, and if so, how do I find one that will work for my computer?

You can’t replace the integrated graphics card without replacing the entire motherboard in your laptop and that generally can’t be done. Some laptops (and not many) will allow you to change out a discrete graphics card, but if you’re only had an integrated card installed, you probably don’t have that option either.
Laptops in general are poor for upgrading components because a lot of them are integrated into the system to reduce the space needed.

if its on a laptop you probably cant add a standalone graphics card. yours is integrated, which means its part of your CPU.
your cpu is your processor, and when you play games or watch movies, your processor allots a portion of your processing power to your video. basically you dont even have a graphics card to replace, because its your processor.

Unfortunately, you can’t replace it on a laptop. It is a physical part of the motherboard, and there is no space for a separate card. You’re stuck with what the laptop came with.

You cannot replace it because its built right on the motherboard.
